Red Bull relocated F1 title celebrations to avoid sticky pitbox
After Max Verstappen secured his third world drivers championship title, Red Bull celebrated by taking a team picture in front of their Qatar pitbox, before moving further down the pitlane to engage in more exuberant celebrations involving the throwing of Red Bull drinks. The change in location was made to avoid any potential FIA sanction for altering their own pitbox, as it could have been seen as a breach of F1’s sporting rules. Red Bull decided to move the celebrations to ensure that spilled drinks would not be interpreted as changing the grip levels in their pit area. Despite still having the main grand prix to focus on, Red Bull boss Christian Horner stated that the team would not delay in celebrating their latest title success, emphasizing that achieving a world championship is a special moment that should be celebrated. Verstappen and the team planned to have a low-key celebration with some non-alcoholic drinks, with Verstappen being present for the upcoming race.
